Procurement Practices and Principles for GIS Practitioners

In March of 2010, NEURISA is held three events on the topic of GIS procurement.  Included below is a brief summary of the events and speakers, including links to their presentations and event photos.



An essential part of effectively managing a GIS in the public sector is understanding how to procure products and services.  Presentations provided an overview of procuring hardware, data, and services from a GIS perspective.  Elements surrounding procurement of hardware, data, or services were discussed along with steps for defining requirements and budgets.  The variety of solicitation types, risks, and best practices were also explored.
